The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce is providing 3 types of scholarships for the 2024 Education Excellence Celebration. The Scholarships are designed to provide recognition for educational achievement and award leadership qualities to graduating Hispanic high school seniors that will be attending an institution of higher learning or trade school; and students currently enrolled in an institution of higher education (undergraduate or graduate) or non-traditional adults looking to obtain a degree or certificate. The Scholarship committee will consider the educational achievements, leadership qualities, letters of recommendation, written essays and strong financial need.
Scholarship Objective: to provide recognition for educational achievement and leadership qualities to graduating New Mexico high school seniors that will be attending an institution of higher learning or trade school.

The person(s) completing the recommendation letter should be a school official, employer or community member who is not related to you and they should sign the letter and print it on letterhead. Your recommender should be someone who can talk about your academic accomplishments, your potential in completing a degree or certificate program, your passion for education beyond high school, and your overall character. Please give the person(s) plenty of time to complete the recommendation letter.
Personal Statement
300 – 500 words, double-spaced, expressing your financial need, education and career goals. Please explain how these goals relate to your cultural background.
Resumé
In addition to employment and education history, include school activities and leadership positions, civic/community involvement (volunteer work) and any honors/awards you have received.

Scholarship Objective: to provide multi-year scholarships annually to see students through graduation beginning Fall 2024. Provide mentoring through either CNM or UNM and connect students to the business community through the Hispano Chamber membership for real world experience and opportunities.
Eligibility: This scholarship is specifically for individuals for whom Fall 2024 will be their first semester ever to enroll in a two-year, four-year, or trade program.

Create a 2–3-minute video explaining your education goals, career objective and plans for giving back to New Mexico. Creativity is encouraged but you must appear in the video and talk for at least half of the length of the video. Please keep to the time limit requirement and then email the video link with the rest of your scholarship materials to bea@ahcnm.org by the scholarship deadline.
