CEO Message for 2013
By Alex O. Romero

Dear valued members and supporters;
I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most talented people in this country over the past eight years. Our board members, chamber members, and community leaders are the most passionate and dedicated professionals; our greatest accomplishment is you and your support.
In May, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce celebrates thirty-eight years. As we reflect upon our program of work, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve all of you; you are truly remarkable people.
Over the years as the needs of our members and the community have grown, our program of work has also developed to address those requirements. As we move forward, we will continue to expand our services to assist the changing requests of our members and community. Through the Barelas Economic Opportunity Center (BEOC) we are implementing additional training programs and services. Our goal to connect our members to procurement opportunities has been successful. We brought in a Kirtland Air Force Base procurement officer to the chamber offices that meets monthly with our individual AHCC business owners. We will expand that service to include other large buyers in the program. Again, our goal is to make it easy for our members to do business with Government agencies and with each other and we will explore more possibilities along this avenue.
We are extremely proud of small businesses that have sacrificed over the past few years as our economy has struggled. We applaud all of you and we commend you for your hard work; you have kept our community strong.
Our commitment to all of you continues and my door is always open; please come visit your chamber in the Barelas Community.
Sincerely,

Alex O. Romero President/CEO
