Chairman of the Board Message for 2013

Dear Valued Members, Partners and Supporters of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce,
I am excited and honored to serve as your chairman for 2013. I am the director of the Albuquerque South Valley Small Business Development Center and the owner of The Becerra Group, LLC, a local Tax and Accounting firm. For over 35 years I have worked with the Albuquerque small business community, and I have an understanding of small business challenges and opportunities.
As chair, I want to ensure that small business is heard in our advocacy for business and economic development. As a proud native Burqueño, I am committed to enhancing opportunity in our city and state for our local small businesses.
This organization has a proud history of engagement and participation with the City Albuquerque, Bernalillo County and State of New Mexico’s economy.
Our mantra, “More than a Chamber,” is reflected as follows:
· AHCC provides workforce and community development and support through the Barelas Economic Opportunity Center (BEOC).
· AHCC is an advocate for small business.
· AHCC offers business networking and promotion, with over 40 annual events to help you make contacts and grow your business.
· AHCC offers educational support, with over $1,400,000 in scholarships provided over the last 25 years!
· AHCC has a Convention and Tourism Department, which helps invigorate our community by bringing national conventions to our great city.
· AHCC is dedicated to supporting the community with access to information about, and resources, in health and wellness.
Because of these areas of focus, AHCC is one of the largest Hispanic chambers in the United States. We are continuing to build, on the hard work of those who preceded us. I encourage you to join the Chamber and take advantage of the many ways to grow your business and our community.
