In the past 5 years alone, we have booked over 400 conventions/events and 304,000 room nights for Albuquerque. The economic impact for business booked from our Convention and Tourism Department this past fiscal year was over $45 million. We support members by supporting the local economy!
In 1976, AHCC formed its full-service Convention and Tourism Department to promote and market Albuquerque globally and among the Hispanic and Native American markets as the ideal destination for tourists and associations and groups to hold their meetings and conventions. We are a boutique department offering specialized services. We are small but more than qualified, and we believe that our boutique nature allows us to offer a more personalized experience. Our clients become our friends and we strive to develop close relationships with them as we offer solutions that meet their needs.
Convention and visitors bureaus across the U.S. traditionally offer a variety of convention services – and charge for them. Our Convention and Tourism Department, however, offers an impressive array of complimentary services to visitors, groups and the local community. As an incentive to promote business in Albuquerque, and with the support of AHCC’s membership base and our dedicated volunteers, we provide numerous complimentary services to support conventions, meetings and other events, such as:
- Convention and event planning
- Assistance with registration
- Los Embajadores Welcome Ambassadors (we maintain a roster of 55 – 60 volunteers to assist us with our mission)
- Press and public relations
- Assistance with competitive bids (hotel accommodations, tours, transportation, etc.), entertainment resources, speakers, etc.
- Greeting services
- Leading tours
- Welcome packets with information on Albuquerque and New Mexico
- Gift packets with New Mexico products
The services we offer aren’t only for visitors, they’re for members as well! Our connections enable us to negotiate favorable rates on all kinds of services, from florists to vendors to entertainment to hotel rates.
