Who We Are:
AHCC is a member-focused business organization and we are proud to be one of the largest Hispanic chambers in the country. Our members are the core of everything we do and you support our organization by collaborating with us in a variety of ways. We constantly strive to anticipate and meet the needs of our members in order to support your businesses in a dynamic way. These efforts have driven us to develop AHCC into an organization that is more than a chamber – we are a force in the community, driving business and economic growth in unique and unparalleled ways. All of these efforts combine to improve the economy of both Albuquerque and New Mexico.
This year we are opening the doors on the latest addition to our ever-growing campus in the Barelas neighborhood. This exciting new state-of-the-art facility will offer 9,000 square feet of meeting and training space, expanding our presence in Barelas to over 22,000 square feet! We are proud to offer various types of training and workforce education to our members and the community, and this new space will enable us to present even more opportunities for our members and their employees to improve themselves. Our new facility illustrates that we are more than a chamber as we endeavor to support our members in whatever ways we can to ensure your success.
In addition, AHCC is more than a chamber as one of the only Hispanic chambers of commerce in the U.S. with a Convention and Tourism Department. Tourism and travel is one of the most critical economic development drivers for Albuquerque and is New Mexico’s number two private sector industry. With this in mind, AHCC formed the Convention and Tourism Department in 1976 and has taken a very strong role in promoting tourism in Albuquerque in order to meet its mission of economic development for local businesses.
AHCC strongly believes that supporting our youth is critical to maintaining Albuquerque’s growth. In our efforts to be more than a chamber, we offer scholarships to deserving students every year! We consider this to be one of our most important contributions to the local business community, as we assist in the development of new generations of business owners and members. We have also been developing our internet presence even more, including harnessing the potential of social marketing. Check us out on Facebook.com! We believe that these new avenues are not only worth exploring as ways to promote local business but, more importantly, as conduits to younger generations that will allow us to connect with the future leaders of our community. AHCC is dedicated to connecting with current and future members in all types of demographics. We strive to help members of every age, ethnic background, gender and economic background succeed. We are here to serve the entire business community!
In everything we do, AHCC is an advocate for the community, and each of our areas of focus works interactively with the others to help us create a force for the community. We strive every day to support our members and the community, creating a cycle of economic improvement that builds on itself, resulting in a major impact on local business. Growing our membership enhances our ability to get involved with the community at every level. Workforce training increases the number of skilled workers available to the business community. Convention and Tourism brings tourists here, which supports local business. Education and scholarships support our youth, who are the leaders of tomorrow’s New Mexico. The list goes on and on…AHCC is truly more than a chamber and we help our members and our community in an impressive variety of ways.
